How Haley first started Pilates and became an Instructor.
I’ve always been into sports and different exercises since I was young. Then when I started flying as a cabin crew, I suffered from backaches and knee pain. That’s when I first tried Pilates after a friend suggested it.
What do you like about Pilates?
I love how Pilates makes me more aware of my body as I move, also my backaches and knee pain went away. I also noticed the improvement in my bad posture and how after an hour’s session, the body just feels so light, and the mind refreshed as well.
What spurs you to become a Pilates Instructor?
I wanted to become an instructor because I saw the positive changes Pilates brought to my life and I wanted to share that with more people. I would say that Pilates is one of the best investments that you could make for your body and overall health.
What’s your favourite Pilates move?
My favourite move would be the mermaid on the reformer. It’s just such a nice stretch on the sides of the body and the shoulders and you feel that much taller after doing it!
What are some challenges you faced while training to become an instructor? Any advice / tips to trainees?
The biggest challenge for me was juggling my time as I was still working then as a cabin crew and taking the course. I had to really plan my time when I wasn’t flying so that I could practice as much as I could!
If I had any advice, it would be to be consistent! Make your practice a routine part of your life and it won’t feel like you are giving up something else just to practice.
What’s your goal / life motto?
My life motto is pretty simple. Teach what I’ve learnt and give what I’ve received.
What can we expect in your group classes?
Lots of spinal articulation and core work, a little cardio, and tons of energy!
Any other hobby you enjoy doing during your free time?
I love going for morning walks and cooking in my spare time because I also love to eat haha!

Being vegan, I love how Green Dot is right beside the studio! Their laksa is to die for!
