This workshop series is designed to give Pilates instructors and movement professionals a clearer, more practical understanding of anatomy. Rather than getting lost in memorising tiny details, we’ll focus on how anatomy applies to real- life movement, teaching you how to see the body with fresh eyes.
Across three focused sessions, you’ll learn how to locate key anatomical landmarks, recognise common misalignments, and better understand the body’s interconnected systems – skills that will directly enhance your teaching and practice.
Who would benefit from these workshops:
– Pilates instructors and instructors-in-training
– Sports and movement professionals
– Pilates and/or movement practitioners with basic anatomical knowledge
All workshops can be joined in-person at Focus Movement or online via Google Meet. The meeting link will be sent to you after registration.
*Polestar Graduates: 3 PPA CECs will be awarded for your participation in each workshop
*NPCP-Certified Instructors: 3 NPCP CECs will be awarded for your participation in each workshop
🌟 Foot to Pelvis and Gait
🗓️ 9th May (Sat)
⏰ 3 – 6pm
📍 Focus Movement or online via Google Meet
In this session, we’ll explore the intricate connections from the foot to the pelvis, and how they shape the way we stand, move, and walk. You’ll gain insight into the structural and muscular relationships that support weight-bearing, balance, and propulsion – key components in efficient and pain-free gait.
Through hands-on assessments and identification of anatomical landmarks on different bodies, we’ll examine how foot mechanics influence the knees, hips, and pelvis, and how disruptions in this chain can impact overall movement quality. Expect to leave with a clearer understanding of how to assess, cue, and optimise lower limb function from the ground up!

🌟 Pelvis, Spine and Thorax
🗓️ 30th May (Sat)
⏰ 3 – 6pm
📍 Focus Movement or online via Google Meet
In this session, we’ll explore the central axis of the body – the pelvis, spine, and thorax – and their vital roles in stability, mobility, and functional movement. This trio forms the powerhouse of the body, influencing everything from posture and breath to load transfer and rotational control.
Through practical assessments and palpation of anatomical landmarks, we’ll investigate how alignment, muscular balance, and movement patterns in these regions affect core integration and full-body coordination. You’ll learn to observe subtle imbalances, cue more effectively, and optimise the interplay between stability and mobility throughout the trunk.

🌟 Shoulder Girdle, Thorax and Upper Extremities
🗓️ 20th June (Sat)
⏰ 3 – 6pm
📍 Focus Movement or online via Google Meet
In this session, we’ll dive into the dynamic relationship between the shoulder girdle, thorax, and upper limbs. You’ll explore how the spine and ribcage influence shoulder positioning and function, and how to effectively access and optimise that connection.
We’ll also look at how movements of the arms and upper body can impact spinal mechanics, giving you a deeper understanding of integrated, functional movement from the inside out.
