Elva Chen
Elva’s journey with Pilates began in 2009 when her physiotherapist introduced it as part of her recovery from a sports-related leg injury. A few years later, after fracturing her leg in a ski accident, Pilates once again played a crucial role in her rehabilitation. Beyond healing, it transformed her approach to movement – enhancing her body awareness, improving posture, and strengthening her core, flexibility, and balance.
With over a decade of experience practicing Pilates in both Singapore and Hong Kong, Elva’s passion for the discipline only grew stronger. Determined to deepen her understanding and help others experience the same benefits, she pursued the Comprehensive Studio course with Polestar, turning her passion into a profession. As an instructor, Elva is known for her keen eye for movement and problem-solving approach, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs of her clients and ensuring they achieve their best results.
As a dedicated Polestar mentor, Elva also plays a key role in shaping the next generation of Pilates instructors. She actively trains and guides aspiring teachers, sharing her expertise and equipping them with the skills to become confident, impactful instructors.
Whether working with clients or mentoring future professionals, Elva is committed to empowering others through movement – helping them build strength, resilience, and a deeper connection with their bodies.
“I came for a trial class and got hooked because of Elva. Her amazing energy, great patience, and impeccable teaching is why I have been coming for almost 2 years now. Two classes a week isn’t enough! Highly recommend Focus to all levels.”
